Colorado, for a regional Stampin' Up! conference. That's one of the
wonderful things about being a demonstrator....the fun places we get to
meet with other demonstrators and the amazing, fabulous staff who go to every event.

Barbara Welch, who flew in from Phoenix, a few days early. We had a
wonderful time in Denver, shopping, eating yummy food at local
restaurants and staying up until 2:00am....finishing up our swaps!

One
of the best parts of any Stampin' Up! event is the swapping. We all
spend weeks designing and creating dozens {or hundreds} of cards and fun
little projects, we carefully pack them in our suitcases, and then we
walk around oooohhing and aaaahhing over everything, snapping pictures
and trading with each other.

When
you're as crazy about swapping as we are, you get to know each other's
faces cuz you're all swapping together year after year. It was fun to
see some familiar faces and get to know them a little more. Here I am with Crystal French and Sandy MacFarlane. Crystal was a presenter and shared gorgeous projects.
Here are some of the gorgeous tags we swapped in Barbara's Over the Top Tag Swap.

After I embossed the Early Espresso Core'dinations cardstock with the elegant Lacy Brocade embossing folder, I sanded it with our new sanding block.

The snowflakes were diecut with the Snow Flurry Bigz die. The rosette was created with our Designer Rosette die and the gorgeous Candlelight Christmas designer paper. Although we've had this a few years now, it remains my favorite Christmas greeting stamp from the Bells & Boughs stamp set. The tulle is so soft and romantic and the rich Cherry Cobbler seam binding adds an elegant touch.

This is Barbara's tag. I love the rich colors. Barbara used the Quintessential Flower stamp for 3 of the layers on this tag.

Although you can't see it in the photo, this tag shimmers and glitters! The champagne glimmer paper is SO gorgeous!

And now I'm back to the scrap table. About a year ago, I designed a scrapbook album that served as the guest book for a sweet friend. After her wedding, I kept the book to "finish it up" and.....here we are, a year later. I'm hoping to put it in the mail tomorrow, but ONLY if I get back to work!
I've been buried in The Studio every single day for over a week, snipping, punching, stamping....sitting silently staring at my project for 20 minutes wondering what it's missing....and then feeling so happy and accomplished when it finally all comes together! I had the pleasure of my downline and friend Leslie joining me one day this week. How much fun to spend the day with a friend doing something you both love and enjoy. The only problem is the hours just slip by and suddenly it's the end of the day!

Here is a little peek at what I've been so busy designing the past several days. My Holiday Hoopla classes will start in a few weeks. One of the classes is a Christmas Album-in-a-Day. These are snapshots of the pages. I know you'd like to see all the pages in full view, but for now, this is what you get! I know, I know....but, it's a class and if I posted the full 2-page spread, nobody would sign up for the class right? I knew you'd understand. Enjoy!

We'll be using the Merry Moments Scrappin' Kit available in the Holiday Mini. The colors are so wonderful; I love Lucky Limeade and Cherry Cobbler. I would probably not have paired Very Vanilla or Lucky Limeade with Basic Gray, but I love how these colors work together.

Cherry Cobbler is such a deep, rich red. The new 1-1/4" scallop circle punch is SO adorable! I can't stop using it.

The new holiday framelits in the Holiday Mini are SO much fun! This gingerbread man is so stinkin' cute! I make gingerbread cookies every year, so I will definitely have pictures to add to this cookie page.

Stuffing the stocking is one of my favorite Christmas traditions! I shop all year long for fun little trinkets to put in my six darling nieces and nephews stockings! Last year the whoopie cushions that showed up in the boys stockings were the biggest hit of the whole day. Yes, those 4 and 7 year olds had a blast playing with those. Oh my!

I hope you enjoyed this little sneak peek! It doesn't seem quite right to be planning for the holidays just yet, but....if you're anything like me...there is never too much planning! I am a list maker. I even make lists of my lists! Oh my! Several of my lists are saved in a Word document, including Thanksgiving and Christmas lists. This year, I decided instead of printing off my lists on boring ol' white paper, I was going to whip up a festive holiday planner. This will be the first in my series of Christmas classes. If you're in the Wichita area, you can join me in The Studio to create your own Holiday Planner.

Holiday Planner, Friday, October 26, 6:30-9:00p.m. $16

I've used the beautiful Candlelight Christmas Designer Series Paper for this project. The warm, rich colors are so inviting and cozy! I couldn't resist using a retired snowflakes diecut for the cover; they are so delicate, I just love them.
I used Lucky Limeade, Real Red and Early Espresso cardstock.
I've used the Labels Collection and Apothecary Accents Framelits; the Large Scallop Edgelit, and a variety of punches.

The cute little gingerbread man was diecut from the super fun Scentsational Season Framelits. (There is a coordinating stamp set that is SO much fun!)
You will be emailed a Word document with the tables I've created for the planner lists, so you can reprint them year after year.

Tina Sabin is the winner of the last drawing....for the week ending Friday, October 5. Tina....send an email to me at mypaperantics@gmail.com with your mailing address so I can get your cards sent to you!

Don't forget, dear readers, when my blog reaches 100 followers, 2 of you will win a FREE stamp set! Until then, I am hosting a weekly drawing. So far, NO ONE has contacted me to receive their free card set. That tells me 2 things....no body wants the cards....or they aren't keeping up with this blog. I know I've got a long way to go with this blog, but I'm learning as I go and working on new ideas all the time. I hope you enjoy coming here and I hope I can and will give you something worth coming to look at.

There is a completely new set of cards this week, although I don't have a photo of them to add here, but they are SO stinkin' cute! I hope Tina contacts me!

Happy stampin' ya'll!Laurahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14367840544171274584noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2094238674020143428.post-26269332040417870212012-10-08T13:05:00.002-05:002012-10-08T13:31:34.702-05:00Baby It's Cold Outside! It may be cold outside, but it's sizzling in The Studio!

My inky little fingers have been busy stamping, crimping, punching, sanding....creating a lot of holiday magic. The annual Holiday Hoopla frenzy has begun and it's been so fun putting ideas to work. Cards, holiday planners, an entire Christmas album, advent calendards, a winter wreath....all kinds of holiday goodness is happening down here. Some of the cards aren't finished yet because I'm waiting for a few items to be delivered from Stampin' Up! but as soon as that box arrives you can bet I'll be adding the finishing touches! There will be 3 card classes in the Hoopla series this year, along with a card class for kids.
There are so many fabulous cards already designed by amazing
demonstrators, I had to borrow a few of their ideas! How much fun are
these darling cards! I love our coordinating punches, Big Shot dies and
stamps...it's so amazing what one little piece of paper can do! Our Holiday Mini is SO full of amazing Christmas products....I've ordered nearly every single thing!
Oh my goodness! The temperature dropped this weekend...it was in the 40's on Saturday. I enjoy the fresh air so much I refused to shut windows and turn the heat on. It's usually 10 degrees cooler in the basement (where The Studio is) than upstairs and it was FREEZING down there! So, we pulled out the space heater and I
plugged in a heating pad for my feet, but I was determined to keep that fresh air in the house. I still haven't shut the bedroom window....thank goodness for an 800 power fill down comforter!

This kind of cool, fall weather
makes me want to be in the kitchen more than my stamp room and I spent a
lot of time baking and cooking this weekend. Crispy sugar cookies & gooey chocolate chip cookies and homemade creamy chicken soup was the result. My mom is an
old-fashioned out-of-this-world cook (and baker) and we grew up with
everything homemade and from scratch and I've followed in her footsteps.
Happy stampin' everyone! Thanks for reading and I hope you have a blessed day as well as a week filled with stampin' happiness!Laurahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14367840544171274584noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2094238674020143428.post-86187994257729131712012-10-03T09:00:00.000-05:002012-10-03T09:00:07.269-05:00Sweet little giftsMy downline and friend, Leslie, went to visit her daughter in Seattle, Washington last week. Two of Leslie's daughters recently became Stampin' Up! demonstrators, so not only is Leslie a new demonstrator, she now has a small but growing downline. Leslie and one of her daughters, Michelle, took advantage of her visit to the Pacific Northwest to attend the Stampin' Up! regional event in Tacoma last weekend. So, I took the opportunity to give them all a little gift and send them with Leslie on her trip.

I made each of them this elegant pin with the fabulous new tulle...ooooo la la!

I diecut a scallop from the silver glimmer paper with the Perfect
Pennants Big Shot die. There are 6 scallops punched from the Comfort
Cafe DSP (Designer Series Paper). I die-cut a large scallop circle and
hot glued the tulle around it, then attached the scalloped flower in the
center. I added 3 rhinestones to the tulle and then spritzed it
generously with Vanilla Shimmer Mist.

Although you can't see the
shimmer in the photo...it was so gorgeous! I cut pennants from the DSP
and Soft Suede cardstock and added a little crochet trim. I attached a
pin back to the back so they could wear them in Tacoma.

The gift tag was die-cut from the Two Tags Big Shot die. I love that die and use it for so many things. Another scalloped flower was attached to the tag; the scallop punch is designed to coordinate with the scalloped top of the tag die; you can see how the silver scallop nests on the red scalloped tag. That is one thing I love, love, love about Stampin' Up! products - the coordination! Not just the colors, but how many of the punches and dies are made to work together, there are stamps designed to coordinate with many of the punches and there are so many dies that have matching stamp sets as well. Coordination is a very good thing!

Of course, what is a gift if there is not a little chocolate involved? I love the colors of these Hershey's kisses! Perhaps I will invite Leslie to guest blog about her experience at the Stampin' Up! regional. Stay tuned!
I'm busy in The Studio getting some projects together for a workshop on
Thursday evening. Everything is SO cute! Would you like a little sneak
peak of one of the projects?

This cute little punkin' was created
with the large scallop circle die and embossed with the Vintage
Wallpaper embossing folder. The leaves were die-cut with the new Autumn
Accents die in the Holiday Mini.
This is a direct case (copy and share everything) from a swap I
received in Denver last month (oops, I've lost the name of the swapper)
but the idea has been around awhile, creating a circle card by
folding cardstock in half and keeping the fold inside the circle, so it
doesn't cut the complete circle. It's a fun idea that can create all
kinds of fun projects. In fact, I'll be using this idea to create
ornament cards for a Christmas card class, using the big plain circle
die.

Have fun stamping!

Laurahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14367840544171274584noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2094238674020143428.post-68262121342365591222012-10-01T12:43:00.000-05:002012-10-01T12:45:44.288-05:00Rollin', rollin', rollin'....What a whirlwind weekend I've had! Thursday morning my husband and I left home very early (too early to mention!) to drive to Louisville, Kentucky. We love trips and drive almost everywhere. I grew up in Montana and if you wanted to go anywhere you were looking at a long drive, so long road trips are very normal to me. So many of my friends groan and say they couldn't do it...give 'em a plane any day! Not me! Well, I love to fly too, but there's something about being in the car watching the scenery of our beautiful country roll by. I love it! We drove all day Thursday and we drove home all day yesterday, Sunday. Poor hubby...he had to get up at 4:00a.m. to drive halfway across the state of Kansas for his job this morning.

So, that's why you haven't heard from me the past 4 days....I did not bring my laptop and I don't have one of those "fancy phones" so, with no internet I couldn't get online. It was a nice break actually!

Now that it's October, we're beginning to think about Halloween. There
are so many cute or spooky Halloween stamps and fun elements to design
with and the colors are SOOOO scrumptious, but I'm not much of a
Halloween kinda gal, so mostly what I create are projects for my October
workshops. Here are few fun cards I've designed for some Halloween

This cute little Bat Box and the Spooky Box were created using the Candy Wrapper Big Shot die and embossed with the Elegant Lines folder. "Spooky" was stamped with the Wicked Cool stamp set. The spider webs are a retired Stampin' Around wheel.

The spider web card is so cool! I saw it on a display board at a Stampin' Up! event and have used this idea so many times. The darling little spider is from a retired set, but I had to show you this cute little card anyway. When I designed this card I had to purchase a package of googly eyes and get really frustrated while I tried to stick them on those tiny little spidey eyes...but NOW....Stampin' Up! has a pacakge of adhesive-backed googly eyes that are SOOOO easy to stick on!

Well, I still haven't heard from either of the two gals whose names were drawn for my first card set drawing. So, I'm closing that drawing and although it's 3 days late....it's time for the 2nd weekly drawing for a card set. I'm going to use the same set of cards, since I still have them. So, I'm going back to the bucket of names and drawing a new winner for last week. I'll post again this evening who the winner is! I hope it's you!Laurahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14367840544171274584noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2094238674020143428.post-20990631320068915622012-09-26T00:49:00.002-05:002012-09-26T00:49:37.707-05:00New Winner of the Card Set DrawingCongratulations Penny Hanuszak! Penny, if I hear from you before 3:00 Wednesday I can get them
in the mail tomorrow; I'll be going out of town for 5
days, so if I don't hear from you before then, I'll mail them as soon
as I get back.

I'm so sorry that Beth was not able to respond and have this card set
mailed to her. I hope I draw her name again over the next few weeks. They just make you want to reach in and take a big ol' handful and, if you're like me, nibble away at it one piece at a time, or....if you're like my husband, jam the whole bunch in your mouth at once!
Blog candy is a little bit like a candy jar just waiting to be dipped into. It's tempting, fun and oh so exciting when you're the one who walks away with a fistful of goodies!

I designed these cards today for the random weekly winner of a set of hand-stamped cards. I posted the winner on Friday but, so far she hasn't gotten back with me to confirm and provide me her address. I hate for Beth to miss out, but.....if I haven't heard from her by midnight tonight, I'll draw another name. I'll let you know tomorrow what happens. Remember, there will be a drawing every week until I reach 100 blog followers. And then I'll give away 2 free stamp sets!

The Autumn Accents leaf die is so fun and isn't the polka dot scalloped ribbon delightful?

The Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper is so rich and warm, but it coordinates so well with that crazy Summer Starfruit I really like it actually, you just have to use the right color combination.
I love this little owl. He (or she) is so cute! It always makes me think of a quote my aunt loved to share with me when I was a little girl. "There was an old owl who lived in an oak. The more that he saw the less that he spoke. The less that he spoke the more that he heard. Why can't we all be like that old bird?"
A HUGE ol' storm just blew in.....eeks, I hope my precious flower
gardens are going to survive it. There's heavy hail (now that's
something wierd!) and thunder & lightning. I love thunder &
lightning. My first home was an old 100 year old farmhouse with a big
covered patio and a swing. We used to sit out there, safe and cozy
under the patio roof and watch the lightning storm...so majestic and
powerful and amazing!

I hope you're enjoying my blog, dear friends. I'll be ever so grateful if you shared my new venture with your friends. Oh my word...it's getting worse and I think the power is going out...it just flickered a few times. I love it! Can you imagine what the pioneers must have felt like out here on the Kansas prairie, going through a storm like this in a sod hut or small wood cabin? Wow! Laurahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14367840544171274584noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2094238674020143428.post-40214691534035564942012-09-24T11:16:00.003-05:002012-09-24T11:33:52.967-05:00Ready, Set, Go!Sometimes I feel like I'm running a marathon! Do you ever have that kind of day, week, month....? Kinda makes you want to shout, "Stop this train...I wanna get off!" That's sorta how I feel this week, well actually, the past month or two or three. It's all good stuff...but wow, I'd just like two days in a row where I wasn't rushing somewhere or to complete something. I probably wouldn't know what to do. Hmmm, maybe that would be good!

I still haven't heard from my new follower Beth....she was my random pick for the weekly card set giveaway. Beth.....if you're out there....email me your address! After I get done here (and with the dusting, bed changes, vacuuming and garden watering) I'll be going down to The Studio to start creating your cards!

Today I'm going to share with you some projects I designed for Stampin' Up! events in 2010 and 2011. The photos are in a Facebook album, so it's easy to copy and post those here. The laptop I'm working from right now does not have an SD card ready, which means I can't take pics and load them. So, until I get a cable that lets me do that, I'll have to rely on past projects to tempt and delight you! I really miss my old laptop....it crashed one day, right while I was working on it. Oh my. That baby was deluxe piece of laptop, let me tell you. But it was old and pretty loaded down. It didn't just crash. It crashed and burned! We got this little laptop the day after Thanksgiving last year for $170, so that lets you know how "much" it has on it. We got it so I'd have a small laptop to travel with for internet access. My old one was HUGE! Anyway....'til I get a cable (or new laptop...hint, hint honey....I know he checks my blog out every now and then!) I'll pull out some of these old projects.

I love this card. The stamped heart is a retired hostess set, probably one of my all-time favorites.
This card was almost a total CASE (Copy and Share Everything) from the Stampin' Up! Idea Book, I think last year.

Now, it's been so long since I designed these, I could not tell you if I used another demonstrator's card as inspiration for my design. We have so many talented demonstrators in our Stampin' Up! family, I'm so thankful for those who freely share their creativity with us!

Enjoy your day and I hope you find a little time for some creativity!Laurahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14367840544171274584noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2094238674020143428.post-87146332940821142632012-09-23T00:59:00.000-05:002012-09-24T10:13:21.907-05:00Yay for Beth!Whew! What a busy, but fun, day! Yesterday I promised that I would post the winner of the weekly card set drawing. Except....I didn't count on being so busy before my class started at 11:00. Or that I would sleep in later than I meant to...because I stayed up so late the night before... (In case you haven't figured it out yet, I tend to be a night-owl when I'm "in the zone.") I tried to get online but the server was down, which happens ALL the time! What is up with THAT?!!! So, I disconnected the router and while I was waiting decided to go do "one more thing".... which turned into one more quick thing and one more....and then the students started showing up. And then it was time for my workshop and then....so, here it is, 12:30a.m.

So, you wanna know if it was you? If your name is BETH.............congratulations!!! I'll be creating a hand-stamped set of cards for you this week. Send me your email Beth; as soon as I get the cards finished I'll drop them in the mail to you. Yay!

Tomorrow I'll post pics of some of the swaps I've designed for Stampin' Up! events. Are you a big swapper? I am! Every year I tell myself, "Tone it down sister!" Who am I kidding?
My favorite is Breyer's Caramel Praline Crunch.
Heaven in your mouth. Baskin Robbins Praline's & Cream is just
as yummy, but there isn't a shop close to my house. And because I got
an inkling for ice cream....I went to the grocery store on my way home
(from stamping with my sweet and fun downline) and got some!

Now isn't this the right way to enjoy an ice cream cone? This is my darling little nephew, Colten James.

While we're all waiting for this blog to gain 100 followers (for the stamp set drawing) I decided to have a random drawing each week, on Friday, for a set of hand-stamped cards. I will do that tonight, right before I go to bed (After my big bowl of ice cream!) and I will post the winner tomorrow morning.

In the meantime, I'm stampin' it up in the studio, working on projects for a class tomorrow at 11:00 and a workshop in the evening at 6:30. It's going to be a busy day! Laurahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14367840544171274584noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2094238674020143428.post-24424981529406599702012-09-21T00:46:00.002-05:002012-09-21T00:54:24.070-05:00Contest ReminderHello, my new friends! I've been busy in The Studio alllllllll day long getting prepared for a class on Saturday as well as a workshop Saturday night. What could be better than working all day on something you love to do? Not many people can say they LOVE LOVE LOVE their job, but I am one who does.

What would a blog post be without a little creative inspiration? Since I haven't created anything original the past several days, I thought I'd share with you the gift I gave to my dear friend, Barbara Welch. She is another Stampin' Up! demonstrator from Phoenix and we love traveling together. Two weeks ago we spent the weekend in Denver at a regional meeting Stampin' Up! held for demonstrators and their guests. It's a tradition to share gifts with your roommates and when I saw this adorable box I knew that's what I wanted to make for Barbara. A fabulously talented demonstrator, Wendy Weixler, designed the original box. Isn't it just yummy? Waaaay too cute to open, I'd say!
The stamped image is retired, but I still use it all the time, it's just so delightful. The flowers are just a large circle cut into a long spiral strip, wrapped tight and secured with a hot glue gun. The white tag is diecut with the incredibly fabulous Apothecary Accents framelits and embossed with the new Lacy Brocade folder in the Holiday Mini. I wanted to use the Holiday Frame folder but after 30 minutes of frantically searching high and low through the entire studio....I couldn't find it, so I finally used the other one. (It was 2:45a.m. and I needed to get in bed because....I was leaving at 7:00a.m. to drive from Wichita to Denver...I sorta needed to be done!) Of course, when I got home, I went into the studio and found it within 5 minutes. I stamped in Not Quite Navy although the beautiful Comfort Cafe DSP (Designer Series Paper) is Midnight Muse from the In Color collection. The flowers are from the, ummm, interesting Summer Starfruit. I actually like it, it's just a unique color and needs to be paired with the right colors. It's really more of a green, although almost everyone considers it a yellow...which is why it seems so jarring. If you think of it as a green....it takes on entirely different hue.

I hope you enjoyed this little bit of yumminess. While I was typing this, I polished off the lemonheads that were leftover!

Happy Stamping!
So, here's the downlow....in 2 sentences or less, instead of 2 paragraphs!):

When I reach 100 followers, I will randomly select 2 people to win a FREE stamp set! That may sound like it will take awhile, but.....I know it won't take that long, cuz I plan to post so many fun and creative projects, you'll be telling everyone to come check me out...and POOF! before you know it....I'll have oodles more than just 100 followers!

Here's what you need to do:

Leave a comment on this post with your name.

Cross your fingers and hope it's YOU!

If you were already a follower or just became a follower in the past few days...just leave a comment and you're in!

I know this won't happen in a few days, it could even take several weeks, but won't it be exciting when I draw names and I announce your name as a winner?!!!

Let's make this even more fun! Every week, between today and when I hit 100 followers, I will randomly draw a name from everyone who leaves a comment and I will send you a package of hand-stamped cards. I'll draw 1 name every Friday. Even though there are only 3 days between now and Friday....I'll start this week!
My home is overflowing with autumn and harvest decor; the colors, the smell, the feeling of fall is in the air! Rich oranges, yellows, browns & greens, garlands of leaves and acorns, pumpkins, colored corns, combined with the heavy scent of pumpkin spice in the air... Mulled spices simmering on the stove and every shelf, nook and cranny filled with pumpkins, leaves, acorns and colorful berries just say, "fall is here."

This beautiful fall wreath will add just the right touch of homemade creativity to your autumn decor. Can you just imagine the rich texture and the warm spicy colors nestled on your mantle (or piano...where mine will be) amidst a bed of berries and leaves, acorns and pinecones?

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjNMWqv_McATIp9W0mhcY3HyRnoQBAuu5UcT8FAl1fkl28_STBxeFfMRTo3toPu8s_MrdOq4iqVWZIfxNx1tCmjxCR3RZb2icVesqjFhddjVwiSsyEWo02_ENoLwwgWXF2pPVuC7Tvf8Le/s320/fall+wreath.wmk.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5789616633732027378" />

Join me on October 6, at 2:00p.m. and you will be able to not just imagine it, you'll be able to actually see it! $18 RSVP with pre-payment is required.
The smell of harvest spice; seeing the sparkly pumpkins, leaves and acorns tucked on shelves and in corners; cool weather; Celtic music quietly playing in the background, a song in my heart, a Psalm in my hands, a steaming cup of coffee...

It's good to be thankful. Sometimes we get caught up in feeling like we need to be thankful for the BIG things....health, well-being, a home, a job, healthy children....all of which are most definitely blessings. We ought always to be thankful for the blessings we so often take for granted.

But for today, I want to be thankful for the little things. As I sit here in my rocker, spending a few minutes in meditation, enveloped in the warmth and coziness of my home, I am simply thankful. Laurahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14367840544171274584noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2094238674020143428.post-31818138988663144062012-09-12T12:31:00.003-05:002012-09-12T16:08:00.066-05:00SQUEEEEEAL!!!!I'm so excited! Well, I'm always excited about something, but this I am REALLY excited about! My blog is going to be redesigned by a PROFESSIONAL! Yeah, that's something I'm NOT! It will take awhile, there is always a waiting list, but I'm in line! I'm so happy and I can't wait to see how it all comes together.

There will be all kinds of links with all the important blah blah that a good crafting blog should have, all the links to catalogs and minis and publications from Stampin' Up! will be available and lots of other fun stuff. Most exciting for me....it will be custom designed! YAY for me!

So hang tight, all of my 9 followers. hahaha I know there will be more, I'm determined to have a blog that you will want to read the very minute you wake up! You know you do that....wake up, get your coffee and check out your favorite blogs....I do it too! Anyway, in a few months time, this blog will be so rockin' awesome...I can't wait!

Today, I am out in the yard. Of course, it's 95 degrees today, but I just have stuff that HAS to be done, so there is no fancy paper crafting today. There is WAY too much work to do outside. My 2 gorgeous pottery planters were blown over in some random wind storm while I was gone to Denver....they both broke. I'm trying to find some equally gorgeous planters to replace them with, but the selection is pretty grim this late in the year...at least here in Wichita.

I hope you're getting creative today!
Well, anytime spent at a Stampin' Up! is the best time ever! This weekend was no exception. We had a wonderful time seeing old friends and making new ones, laughing, staying up late, eating yummy food and what would a Stampin' Up! event be without swapping and stamping...LOTS and LOTS of stamping!

If you know me, then you know when I left for Denver I was NOT done with my swaps! That's a rule. Laura cannot attend a stamping event without being behind! My friends will think I'd been replaced with a clone if I ever come to an event ready for swapping! So, if I'm going to an event, you can count on me (and my poor, wonderful, awesome, silly friends) spending a LOT of time finishing up at the very last possible minute.

I can't post pictures right now, but by this evening I hope to remedy that. This new laptop does not have a spot (I don't know what it's really called) to plug my camera card in to download, so I must get a cable or something so I can do that. But...I will post pictures of all the gorgeous swaps I traded for in Denver.

My dear friend, Barbara Welch met me in Denver on Thursday. Of course, you know we spent the next few days laughing, shopping and stamping in our hotel room. OH MY WORD, was it the most scrumpshy hotel EVER! I think every Stampin' Up! demonstrator needs to stay at Embassy Suites. Period. (If you've ever worked on swaps in a cramped hotel room, sitting on the edge of your bed with the lid from a toilet tank as your work space....you'd know what I'm talking about!) There were TWO comfy office chairs and HUGE table with a 2-shelf ledge next to it where we stashed ALL of our stuff! This room was meant for working on swaps! DIVINE!!!!

And the DELISHUS breakfast buffet!!!!! I had a made-to-order omelette every morning, a huge pile of crispy bacon (yes, I said huge pile) and a plateful of juicy cantaloupe, honeydew and watermelon. On our 2nd day, the chef greeted me with, "Ham & egg today?" Seriously? He remembered? I guess we made an impression on the hotel staff...we were presented with a plate of chocolate-covered strawberries our last morning there! Awwww, what a divine week of pampering! I guess they couldn't help but be dazzled by our beauty and sparkling personalities...nearly everyone else there were Steelers fans in town for the big Broncos/Steelers game. We were just about the only 2 who weren't dressed in yellow & black, shouting "GO STEELERS" all the time!

I'll post more about the event over the next day or two. First, I must run some errands, do some laundry and take a look at my gardens. I'm a little scared to do that, as my husband is not the best at taking care of my precious flower beds when I'm away. (I think he does it on purpose to keep me home.)

For those of you who are currently sitting in your chair with your mouth hanging open or on the phone to a girlfriend telling her she "is NOT going to believe this.....Laura posted on her blog!" just relax! I have made a vow to myself - again - that I will, really and truly, will start blogging! I just have to do it. Scared to, intimidated by it, crying cuz I can't get a picture to load or a link to work (hahaha, like I even know how to do that!)...I WILL DO THIS! Starting today....you can expect 3 or 4 blog posts a week, at least. As soon as I really do get the hang of it, I will begin to load pictures and hopefully even someday have tutorials and albums and....well, you know, all the fun stuff you want to see!

So, stay tuned and.....every now and then give me a little encouragement. This is really, really, really, really, really a big step for me! In the meantime, I'm going to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and then go out to buy a cable so I can load pictures. See you tomorrow!
If you're here I know you came by our booth and I'd like to say thank for coming in and visiting with us for awhile.
I'm giving away a little stampin' gift next weekend to one lucky All About Her Expo visitor who leaves a comment for me. I'll be drawing a name Sunday evening, one week from tomorrow, so be sure to comment and let me know how I can reach you.
I just read all my previous posts and I'm laughing at myself because each one says something like this: "So, I've resolved to really start blogging." and then several months or....even a year later, "Now I'm REALLY going to start blogging." Seriously? That's just pathetic. Well, THIS time it really is going to happen. Why is it different this time than the other times? Because YOU didn't know about it! Now that I've printed my blog address on a thousand business cards and been giving one to every one I meet...well, I've got to give you something to look at.
Since YOU are inspiring ME to create this blog....I'm going to give you a little something to get you inspired in your craft room. So, next weekend, one lucky All About Her Expo visitor who leaves a comment for me will receive a little stampin' gift. I'll be drawing a name Sunday evening, May 6, so be sure to let me know how I can reach you.
I hope you enjoyed your day at the All About Her Expo and I want you to know that when you come into MY PAPER ANTICS STUDIO, it really is all about you!
Happy scrappin'

This year I have resolved to get down to business, get serious and get over my fear of blogging! So, the next few days and weeks I'm going to figure this out, this whole blog thing. My friends know how intimidated I am by computer technology. It's irrational, sort of stupid and totally ridiculous that I cannot get it together! So, hopefully this is the last day for that nonsense!

I plan to post several times a week, I want to load up with lots of samples, creativity, and inspiration. My goal is to inspire you, to share with you the joy I find in my studio. This week I'll be busy learning how to dress up my blog, add pictures and links and get this blog where I want it to be.

In the meantime, I hope you're finding joy in your passion! Have a creative week!Laurahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14367840544171274584noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2094238674020143428.post-66713856820250369702011-01-15T08:58:00.003-06:002012-03-03T23:35:12.795-06:00Now I really DO have to start blogging...So, I've been in Nashville for several days attending a Stampin' Up! conference. Part of the fun stuff we do is at these events is gathering with other demonstrators and sharing our fabulous paper stuff. We all make hundreds of cards and projects and trade them with each other. We identify all that fabulous stuff with our name and I decided to challenge myself by including my blog information. WHAT was I thinking? You know what this means? It means that I HAVE to actually figure all this blog land stuff out. Ya'll don't know how intimidated I am by this. I'd rather stand up in front of a thousand women and demonstrate on Main Stage than do this. Put me behind a stove or at a scrappin' table and I'm completely in my element; put me behind a computer and I feel like a kid learning how to ride a bike! But I know I have to, not only for my customers and other wonderful people like me who check out crafty paper blogs every day...but because I just handed out several hundred projects with my name and blog address on them. Disclaimer: I'm not home yet and won't be for several days, so don't expect me post anything yet. I promise I will though, I promise, really I do. My sweet new friend Sara has told me she'll help me and I know she will cuz she's really into all this stuff. I'm so excited!Laurahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14367840544171274584noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2094238674020143428.post-81657835401738609442010-09-27T21:24:00.003-05:002012-03-03T23:35:12.819-06:00I know I'm a GEEK!!!!I know that maintaining a blog is a very simple thing to do. That is, if you have ANY sort of technical guru brain cells. Which I don't. If I did, this blog would have all kinds of pretty buttons and doodads taking you here, there and everywhere. I'd have oodles of photos of all my scrappy work, samples of upcoming classes and all sorts of fabulous things to look at.

It's been kinda crazy around here, tell me who DOESN'T have craziness in their life right now. I keep telling myself that as soon as things slow down and I have more time, I'll figure out what I'm doing here. Well, I have to admit that may never happen, so I'll need to devote a few days to getting it all worked out. I will, I promise.

In the meantime, you can find out what I'm up to at my Stampin' Up! website, www.istampustamp.stampinup.net where you will find my calendar with all the deets about classes and events I'm holding. Pictures will be posted there soon too.

Remember, create your life every day!Laurahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14367840544171274584noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2094238674020143428.post-6429907462033198812010-09-15T10:29:00.002-05:002012-03-03T23:35:12.779-06:00Seems like yesterday....!So much for setting up my blog! Well, I meant to do it, but one thing about me....I am NOT technically inclined. This whole blog thing completely overwhelms me. I forgot the email I used to set this up and don't ask me how, but this morning I stumbled on something that reminded me what it was. Whew!

My mom is going to help me get this blog up and running. I hope we can do it. This is really something I want to do. There are several ideas rattling, bouncing, banging around in my head and the noise is getting on my nerves. So, one of two things, either DO them or DROP them. I'd rather do them, no matter how intimidating or frustrating it will be to get started. Here are a few ideas I'm working on:

1. this blog
2. an etsy store and/or an ewillow store
3. selling or commissioning my art projects in stores around Wichita
4. kicking my Stampin' Up! business up a notch (been sayin' that for years!!!)

There it is. Considering I can barely figure out how to post pictures on facebook, this whole blog thing sorta freaks me out. Mostly cuz now I'll actually have to be committed to it. Yay! That means I will HAVE to scrap....my favorite thing to do!

Have a blessed day. If you think about it, drop me a line now and then, cuz I'll need the encouragement for sure!

Be happy, be blessed, be kind.Laurahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14367840544171274584noreply@blogger.com3
